Distribution and Habitat: Found throughout India

Botany: A shrub, branchlets terete. 

• Leaves:  Elliptic or ovate-lanceolate, acuminate.
• Flower: Corolla white with purple strakes.
• Fruit: Capsule with a solid base.

Properties: Emetic, antiperiodic, insecticide

Chemical constituents: β-sitosterol

Uses: It is useful in fever, swellings, rheumatism, cough, dysentery

Formulations: Kizhi for external application
