Distribution and habitat: Naturalized and wild in tropical parts of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan
Botany: A medium sized tree.
- Leaves: Alternate, petioled, paripinnate with 5-17 pairs of leaflets.
- Flowers: Small. Berries cucumber shaped, greenish yellow, 5-lobed, about 50 mm long, sour and juicy, few flattened seeded.
Uses: The fruit is astringent, stomachic, refrigerant. Fruit in the form of curry is useful in piles and scurvy.
Propagation: By seeds, stem cuttings
