Distribution and habitat: Throughout West coast, near the sea and India.
Botany: A shrub with stem and branches stout.
- Leaves : Large band fleshy, 7.5-12.5 cm, alternate, silky or glabrousent, tufted in the axils.
- Flowers : White in colour, cymes axillary, much shorter than the leaves; bracts small. Corolla-tube narrow, pubescent; lobes lanceolate. Indusium of the stigmaceliate.
- Drupe: sub-spherical, very succulent.
Uses: Sore eyes, anti tumour, carminative, anti- inflammatory, tuberculosis etc
