Distribution and habitat: found on hills above 500 m above msl on the drier exposed slopes, gregarious, distributed in Peninsular India

Botany: A shrub

  • Leaves : Ovate to obovate, (sub) coriaceous, glabrous above, white pilous below, base rounded to acuminate.
  • Flowers :  Spikes panicled, often leafless; corolla purplish, 1 cm across, ventricose tube 1.3 cm, puberulous without sericeous between the stamens, acute.
  • Seeds : Capsules 4 seeded.
