Distribution and habitat: Native of America. Widely spread in India.

Botany: An erect much-branched foetid herb with 3-nately whorled, glandular, serrate leaves 1.3-3.8 cm, rhomboid or elliptic with tapering base, serrate. 

  • Flowers : 3-6 from each whorl on slender 8-13 mm long pedicels. Corolla delicate white, 5 mm diameter;
  • Seeds : Capsules very small, 2.5 mm, sub globose, valves ultimately 2- fid.

Uses: Toothache, febrile conditions, stomach troubles, diuretic, and blennorohagia and in excessive menstruation
